Cartp is a curseperl program that works like archie but better. You can highlight and multiselect files to get, as well as read text files. You also have the option of logging all transfers to a log file. Why is this good, (besides for record keeping), ??? You can tell cartp to use the log file as an input list rather than searching using archie. WHAT A TIME SAVER !!! requirements: 1) all required .pl's are included. Many thanks to the authors of these. 2) curseperl must be built on your system. 3) you must have archie compiled on your system to use that part of the program. Where can I get this great program ???: It's on ftp.eng.umd.edu in /pub/misc/cartp.zip Last remarks: There's a lot of online help as well as a good syntax listing if type cartp by itself with no options. Please let me know what you think. I want to know about any features you want put in as well as the usual bug reports.. I hope you enjoy it.... -dave :-) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dave Rensin College Of Engineering rensin@Glue.umd.edu ^^^^^^ University of Maryland @ 0 0 @ ^ () \__/ -<>- /\ (will hack Perl code in spite of what my boss might say) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
